M Peak
The remote Rongai Route approaches Mount Kilimanjaro from the dry northeastern side, near the Kenyan border. As the only route that begins from the north, it offers a quieter and less crowded trekking experience, particularly during the rainy season when this side of the mountain often remains drier.
The journey to the starting point involves a longer drive, but rewards trekkers with beautiful wilderness, moderate slopes, and excellent views across Kenya. The route passes through striking alpine desert landscapes before reaching the summit of Kibo. With a fair acclimatisation profile and peaceful surroundings, Rongai is an excellent choice for those seeking a more remote Kilimanjaro adventure. The descent follows the Marangu Route.
Experienced Tanzania Travel Experts, skilled cooks, and dedicated porters ensure safety, comfort, and summit success.
Southern approach via Machame Gate, Shira Plateau, Southern Circuit, summit from Barafu, and descent on Mweka.
