DAY BY DAY ITINERARY

Our 9-day Tanzania Family Safari blends exciting wildlife experiences, cultural discoveries, comfortable accommodations, and seamless travel arrangements for an unforgettable adventure.

Day 1

Arrival, JRO – Arusha City (1 hr drive)

After a smooth arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or any other entry point into Tanzania, you will be warmly welcomed by a Tanzania Travel Experts representative. Following a brief introduction, you will be transferred to your selected hotel in Arusha for a relaxing overnight stay on a bed-and-breakfast basis.

Day 2

Arusha – Tarangire National Park (2 hrs)

After breakfast in your hotel in Arusha, drive to Tarangire National Park for game viewing and photographing. Famous for its massive baobab trees, Home of the African elephants (with high concentration than any other park) and tree climbing pythons, Tarangire National Park is small but still home to a significant wildlife population, with a density of wildlife matched only by Ngorongoro. Dinner and overnight in Tarangire on Full board basis.

 
Day 3

Tarangire – Lake Manyara National Park (1 hr.)

Today, we journey to Lake Manyara National Park for a full day of exciting game drives. Despite being one of Tanzania’s smaller national parks, Lake Manyara offers a rich and diverse safari experience. Explore its beautiful landscapes, abundant wildlife, and vibrant lakeshore, which attracts a remarkable variety of birdlife. As you search the trees and open areas, you may also be lucky enough to spot the park’s famous and elusive tree-climbing lions. In the late afternoon, we leave the park and travel a short distance to your lodge or camp. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay on a full-board basis.

Day 4

Lake Manyara – Lake Eyasi (Bushmen tribes) (2 hrs.)

Lake Eyasi is approximately a two-hour drive from Lake Manyara and about an hour southwest of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Surrounded by dramatic landscapes, the area offers views toward the Ngorongoro Highlands to the northeast, while the vast Serengeti plains stretch across the northern horizon. Lake Eyasi is also an important cultural destination, home to communities such as the Hadzabe and Datoga, who have preserved many of their traditional customs and ways of life. During your visit, you will have an opportunity to experience the unique culture, traditions, and daily activities of these indigenous communities. In the evening, enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at your camp or lodge on a full-board basis.

Day 5

Lake Eyasi – Serengeti National Park (5 hrs)

After breakfast, we depart for Serengeti National Park, enjoying wildlife viewing along the way. En route, there is an opportunity to visit the historic Olduvai Gorge, an important archaeological site associated with early human history. After lunch, we continue into the heart of the Serengeti, where the endless golden plains stretch toward the horizon, dotted with acacia trees and dramatic rocky kopjes. Spend the afternoon exploring this remarkable wilderness on a game drive, with opportunities to encounter lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and other wildlife. As the day comes to an end, return to your camp or lodge for dinner and an overnight stay on a full-board basis.

Day 6

Serengeti National Park. (Full Day Game)

We have another full day in this wonderful park, rising early to make the most of our time. Our guides will choose the best spotting locations for the time of year; return to the camp for the night. Dinner and overnight at the Camp/ Lodge. Full board.

Day 7

Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater (3 hrs)

Begin the day with an early morning game drive across the Serengeti, offering excellent opportunities to witness wildlife in the peaceful morning hours. Afterwards, continue toward the remarkable Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a unique destination where wildlife conservation and traditional Maasai pastoral life exist side by side. Unlike a national park, the area allows local Maasai communities to live and graze their livestock alongside the region’s diverse wildlife. In the late afternoon, continue into the conservation area and settle into your carefully selected camp or lodge, surrounded by spectacular highland scenery. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay on a full-board basis.

Day 8

Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha (4 hrs)

After breakfast, descend to the Crater floor for a full day Crater tour with the Picnic Lunch. Supported by year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Crater supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Late afternoon drive to Arusha for leisure, dinner and overnight on BB.

Day 9

Day Tour Mt. Kilimanjaro – JRO, Departure

Begin your day with an early departure for a fascinating exploration of the Mount Kilimanjaro foothills, with lunch included. Enjoy a guided nature walk through the surrounding landscapes while learning about the preparations and arrangements made for climbers before their journey to the Roof of Africa. Discover beautiful waterfalls, traditional Chagga houses, ancient caves, and scenic viewpoints offering spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro, weather permitting. This experience provides an opportunity to appreciate the area’s natural beauty while gaining insight into the local culture and traditions. In the late afternoon, transfer by road to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward travel arrangements.
